Scansione interpolata.

FAST at scanning books into Word, and scanning color photos
[Unfortunately, the photos are being displayed in the incorrect order. So, they should be numbered 3, 6, 1, 2, 5, 7, 4] This is my review of the "CZUR Shine Ultra" scanner, model "Shine 1300A3 Pro" I first want to mention the box in which the scanner is delivered. In my first photo I show the box after the scanner is removed. You can see the other items that come with the scanner. The box is so well designed that you will want to keep it for whenever you store or travel with or ship the scanner. Unlike a flatbed scanner where you insert a page, close the lid, and wait for a scanning light to pass over the document (or the document to feed over a light), this CZUR scanner takes a quick photo from above of whatever is sitting below it on your table. The scanner has two USB ports: one connects to a foot pedal for activating a scan, and the other connects to your computer for transferring the scanned images. The scanner also draws its power from that second USB cord. A black pad with a non-skid backing is provided upon which you put the materials to be scanned. So, when not in use, you roll up the pad and fold up the scanner, thus taking very little space (unlike a flatbed scanner). When scanning, you first indicate whether you are scanning an open book or a flat object (among other options). If you are scanning a book, it's scanning two pages at a time. There are 3 methods to initiate the scan: (1) click the Scan button on your computer screen, (2) step on the foot pedal [included in the package], or (3) click on auto scan. It's this 3rd option that's really impressive when you are scanning a book: the scanner knows when you have turned the page in the book, so it automatically scans the next page. It can scan pages almost as fast as you can turn the pages. Maybe 2 seconds per pair of pages. And the pages do not have to be flattened (in fact, if it's a book, the pages won't be flattened!). The scanner can handle curved pages [refer to my 2nd and 3rd photos]. So, you scan pairs of pages, the software separates the pages and "flattens" them. Then you can batch all of the scanned pages together through an OCR routine (included as part of the package) to convert the images into words! - either for MS Word or Excel - or it can output a .pdf file. However, there are limits to how curved the pages can be. In my 4th and 5th photos you can see the results of not putting more care into your efforts. By the way, you can hold down the pages with your fingers or with a pair of supplied plastic "holders," and the software knows to ignore them. The scanner does a good job of scanning color photos, also. Not a great job, but a very good job. You see in my 6th and 7th photos that the scanned picture does not have to be set straight before scanning. The software does an excellent job of straightening the photo (or any other flat object). Again, you can activate a scan by using the foot pedal, or you can put it into auto mode. In auto mode, it knows when you are removing a photo and putting another one onto the table. So, you can scan photos almost as fast as you can replace them onto the table. I had been hoping that the software would let me put several photos onto the table at the same time and separate them into separate files (it does not do that), but with the auto mode, doing one at a time is almost as fast as laying out several onto the table. So, I'm not complaining. (Maybe they'll add that capability in the near future?) I had a minor problem with scanning my glossy photos: the light caused glare on the photos, but that was easily cured by moving the photos off-center. Regarding documentation: They provide 2 text files: "Software manual" and "User manual." The Software manual contains detailed usage instructions for post-processing (such as adjusting the appearance of photos or sending text to Word). But it does not explain how to do the actual scanning and all of the options. Detailed scanning instructions are provided through online videos - but those move quickly and I found them difficult to understand. Also, I could not find the Software manual online, only on the installation CD that comes with the product. The User manual explains the different parts of the scanner hardware. It is available on the CD and online. Scanning and post-processing are designed around European and Asian paper sizes, not the US standard 8.5x11. However, I'm not sure if it matters. When sending scanned pages to Word, it's Word that defines the page size, and the contents are wrapped page-to-page accordingly. (Hopefully, an 8.5x11 option will be added to the software?) After installing the software from the provided CD, it said that I needed to download a newer version. My Bitdefender antivirus program labeled the download of the setup program to be "infected." However, I trusted CZUR and set Bitdefender to allow the download. Then I ran into another problem after installing: it kept aborting! However, an email sent to tech support was answered immediately and I was provided with a very simple fix (a config.ini replacement file) - and then it worked great! When first using the program, you need to ensure that the scanner frequency is set properly in the "Settings" area. In the US, it should be set to 60Hz instead of 50Hz. When adjusting the appearance of a photo, there are options for "contrast," "sharpness," and "thickness." "Thickness" refers to darker/lighter. Scanning options include "auto," "color," "B&W," and "stamps." The Stamps mode refers to B&W documents that contain blue stamps, such as approval markings. "Truth in advertising:" You need to know that CZUR offered this scanner to me for free if I were to write an honest review in Amazon. My review has not been biased by their gift to me. And I can honestly say that I am impressed with this scanner and give it high praises for its intended uses. Note, though, that this is not the scanner you want if your primary use is to produce high-quality scans of color pages or pictures.Leggi di più
